§ 420.07. SAFETY BELTS.

  • (a)

    Unless exempted by State law, each driver and front seat passenger of a motor vehicle operated upon a street or highway in the City of Coopersville shall wear a properly adjusted and fastened safety belt, except that a child less than four years of age shall be protected as required in Section 257.710d of the Michigan Vehicle Code . Each driver of a motor vehicle transporting a child four years of age or more, but less than sixteen years of age, in the front seat of a motor vehicle, shall secure the child in a properly adjusted and fastened safety belt.

    (b)

    This section shall be enforced as prescribed by Section 257.710e(4) of the Michigan Vehicle Code .
